Rock & Rapid Adventures run the largest indoor climbing centre in North Devon, alongside coasteering, kayaking, high ropes, archery and a bunkhouse, all from their base at Hacche Mill near South Molton. Their adventure centre website has to speak to a first time climber, a monthly member, a school trip organiser and a stag party, often in the same week.
When they came to us, the business was split across two websites on two very similar domains. One covered the climbing wall, the other covered the wider adventure centre. Visitors landed on whichever one Google chose to show, the team had two sites to keep up to date, and the two domains were quietly competing with each other for the same Devon searches.
We brought the lot under one roof. The two sites became one, the spare domain was retired and redirected, and the page structure was cut back to match what people in Devon are genuinely searching for. Every page was rewritten around the local audience, with far more of the centre’s own photography doing the selling. You can see the finished site at rockandrapidadventures.co.uk.
Two domains can feel like a safety net, but in search it is really a split. Every link, every mention and every bit of trust Google had built was shared across two addresses instead of strengthening one. Consolidation is rarely the exciting option, yet for a business with one site and one physical location, it is usually the one that shifts the numbers. A properly planned website redesign gave Rock & Rapid one address to promote, one site to update, and one set of rankings to grow.
