The SEO Myth,
SEO Is Dead?!
Try telling that to the multitude of Melt Design customers generating leads, closing sales and making money.
ALL from the power of search engine optimisation…
In recent years it’s been super fashionable to make one simple proclamation about marketing:
“SEO is dead”.
Today, I want to tell you the truth:
SEO is very much alive. In fact, it’s never been more alive than it is right now, and being found organically has never been more important either.
Over the course of the next few minutes I’ll explain why.
Let’s go right back to basics…
There can be no argument over the power of Google in 2018.
Each day, there are 3.5 billion searches on the platform. That’s 247 million searches every hour, and 68,000 each second.
That’s A LOT of usage.
And you know what it tells us?
We’re using Google for EVERYTHING.
Whether it’s a question we want an answer to, a recipe we want to try, a video we want to watch, a celebrity we want to stalk or a product or service we want to research and buy. We go one place to find our answers:
Google.
And when you consider all this, it stands to reason that for most businesses, being found by the people who are searching for your product, or information related to your product is a pretty important thing.
Agree? Good. I’m glad we’ve established that.
Next question: if you could give yourself the very best chance of ensuring that when the relevant searches were made, you were likely to be found, would you want to make that happen?
Well, when you take into consideration everything we’ve just talked about, the answer is a pretty obvious and resounding ‘YES’.
So there’s only really one question that remains:
“Can you do that? Is there anything you can do to give yourself a better chance of being found on Google when people are searching for your product or service?”
The answer is very simple.
Yes. Yes, you can.
Search engine optimisation - or SEO as it’s more commonly known - may have changed over the years, but it still works. Anyone who tells you that it doesn’t either has a hidden agenda or doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
And the good news, is that it’s moved on from the ‘black hat’ SEO tactics we saw in the mid noughties.
The old tricks no longer work – you can’t just stuff keywords into your copy so it barely makes sense, or paste them in in white and hope nobody notices.
Google have got wise to those nefarious ways, but that absolutely doesn’t mean that they won’t reward businesses who take steps to show that:
- Their website is relevant to particular search terms
- The content featured on that website is worthy to be shown when a particular search term is submitted
- They are constantly working to make their website more user friendly, more informative and more useful
Really, that’s all search engine optimisation is – making it as easy as possible for Google to see you as a good destination for their traffic.
“What about Google Ads? Doesn’t that stop SEO from being important?”
In a word, no. Google Ads have their place, for sure, but to suggest that all commercial traffic is driven by advertising rather than organic would be to tell a lie.
The fact of the matter is that a huge number of prospective buyers don’t click on the advertising links, choosing to scroll down and check out the organic listing. Just as importantly, a lot of important SEO work goes on higher up the funnel.
Let me explain what I mean by that.
Google allows people to do more research than they previously used to do about products and services, which means that much more content typically gets consumed before a choice is made.
It’s very difficult to make content work as a paid ad, as it’ll just cost you too much money to get people to consume the content.
But if you optimise that content for search engines so it get found organically, then you can get it in front of the right people for free.
In short, Google Ads do not negate the power of SEO – instead the two work hand-in-hand, and actually, while Google Ads isn’t right for some businesses, SEO is right for pretty much all.
Hopefully you’re reading this and seeing the wisdom in getting SEO going for your business (if you’re not then I’m not sure what more information you need!), but you might still have a few fundamental questions.
Like:
“That’s all very well, Matt, but I haven’t got the foggiest idea how to ‘optimise’ my website?”
Or,
“I’ve got a vague idea of how to “SEO’ my site, but I simply don’t have the time, and as I’m not exactly an expert, I probably wouldn’t do a particularly good job anyway”
If that’s you, then don’t worry: we can just do it for you, and it’ll cost you A LOT less than you’d think.

“Is Our SEO Service For You?”
It might be. It might not.
If the following is true, then I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND investing with us:
You’re looking for a “quick win” or a silver bullet.
SEO favours the patient, and if you’re not willing to be, then it won’t be for you. You won’t get instant results, but over time you’ll definitely start to see some – just look at some of the kind testimonials on this page if you don’t believe me.
Your audience doesn’t use Google.
Let’s face it, that’s pretty much no one, but if you’re selling something to an audience who genuinely never use the Internet, then there are probably better things you could be investing in each month.
You can’t easily afford the investment.
We’ll get to price in a minute, and it really is very reasonable. However, at Melt we’ve always prided ourselves on never working with businesses that genuinely can’t afford to work with us, and that’s never going to change. If the fee would be a genuine strain for you each month, then it’s not right for you right now.
The maths doesn’t stack up.
Businesses don’t work without the right mathematics, and it stands to reason that if you spend more than you earn, you’ll go out of business pretty quickly.
I’d encourage you to work out what your clear profit is on the lifetime of a customer (i.e. not just the first transaction but all time), and then work out how many customers you’ll have needed your SEO activities to generate in the first 12 months to make good money.
If the numbers look wildly unrealistic, then we probably won’t be a good fit.
our most effective way of getting new customers.
Talking of numbers, let’s get into the investment…
You’ve probably got a figure in your head around how much this is going to cost you.
You might have seen phrases like “expert team” and “working tirelessly” and assumed that because we’re going to be doing a lot of work for you each month, your investment is going to be pretty substantial.
And if that’s the case, then I’m delighted to tell you that actually, your investment is just £325 + VAT.
When you think back to that sum you did a couple of minutes earlier, you’ll hopefully see that you really won’t need many new customers to more than justify your fee.
And it gets better.
Let’s face facts: this is a sales letter, and no sales letter is complete without an offer.
So here goes…
For a limited time only, you can come on board as a SEO client and lock in a LIFETIME DISCOUNT of £50 every single month, making your investment a simple monthly fee of just £275.+ vat
I know, when you consider what you’re getting for that fee, it really is practically peanuts, but that’s exactly what you can get our SEO service for when you come on board before 5:00pm on Friday 9th November.
And it doesn’t even end there either…
Can’t say fairer than that, can you?
It’s nearly time for a decision now, so I guess the question you’ve got to answer now is:
“Yes or no?”
Would your business benefit from being found more often on Google?
Would your phone ringing more often, or more forms being filled in on your website change your business for the better?
Would more leads help you sleep better, knowing that your destiny is in your own hands?
Would more sales give you more chance of living the life that you want to live, spending more time with your family or doing the things that matter to you?
If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of those questions, then the obvious next step is to have a conversation.
Why a conversation, rather than a credit card?
We’ve got to be SURE we can help you.
If we look at your website and we know you’ve got no chance of optimising it, we’re not going to waste your money.
If we look at what you’re selling, do some keyword research and decide that there’s not much benefit in adding SEO into the mix, then we’ll want to tell you, rather than wasting your time.
To book your conversation, just click the button below and we’ll be in touch to discuss whether this is right for you.
I hope we do talk. SEO really does work wonderfully well for all of our clients that do it, and it’s highly likely to for you too, so if you’re not sure but want to talk then click the button and we’ll schedule a chat.
Thanks for reading – speak soon.
Matt
P.S. Remember, to get the lifetime discount of just £275 + VAT each month, you’ll need to have submitted your application by 5pm on Friday 9th November, and to get the 60-minute 1:1 with me, you’ll need to get it in even earlier – by 5pm on Friday 2nd November.
